BREAKING NEWS - Request Your Company Access Key TODAY

As of October 19, 2021, the Ontario Provincial Government has created a brand new Ontario Business Registry. This registry seeks to simplify the interactions between businesses and the provincial government, offering “faster, and more convenient access for organizations that are registered, incorporated or licensed to carry on business in Ontario”.

With over 90 transactions available online through this registry (including registering a new business, dissolving an existing business, and filing the annual information returns for Ontario corporations), you will be able to streamline the process of keeping your company’s information up-to-date.

Requesting a Company Key

A “Company Key” is necessary for any existing businesses to access the new registry. This key is represented by a sequence of numbers similar to a banking PIN and is something you should keep protect at all times. You should only share the key with people you trust as it gives the authority to change profile information and make filings.

To request a Company Key, you can go directly to the “Company Key Request Form” or go to the “Ontario Business Registry website” for more information.

Please note: if you have provided documents to the Provincial Government since September 17, 2021, you should be aware that they may not be processed. You will have to resubmit these documents using the new Ontario Business Registry, as they will likely be returned.
